Dance Floor Etiquette and Protocol

1. NO Drinks or Cigarettes are allowed on the Dance Floor at ANY time.

2. No Loitering on the Dance Floor if you are NOT Dancing.

3. The Center of the Floor is reserved for Stationary Dancers... Line Dances, Cha-Cha, Swing, etc.

4. The Outside Lane is reserved for more experienced/confident dancers who will often be dancing faster and progressing further than novice dancers.  If you wish to dance more slowly to a particular song, please use the Slower or inner lane to allow those wishing to dance faster to pass.

5. When entering the floor, be prepared to start dancing immediately or move into the slow lane to avoid collisions.

6. If you do Bump into someone or they bump into you, Apologize with a smile and move on.

7. There are only three acceptable reasons to refuse to dance with someone when asked:

   • You don't know how to dance

   • They or you are too Drunk to dance safely

   • You have just completed dancing and are too tired (tell them you'll dance another song with them later.)

8. If you DO Turn someone down for a dance... Sit the ENTIRE song out... it is extremely rude to turn one person down and then accept the same dance from someone else.

9. When the dance is finished, turn the follow out in a Ladies' Turn and escort them off of the floor with a smile... thank them for the dance.  Mama Deana says: 'It never hurt nobody to be Polite...'
